Hampstead Heathing with my boys yesterday | Since having Stan, we’ve noticed that our ‘Danny and Lizzie birthday treat days’ of old, no longer quite work. A classic bday for us would have been brunch, gallery/exhibition, walk, shopping, chill at home to get dressed up for dinner out. These things are all still possible but we can’t quite pack all that into one day anymore with no regard for the little one’s meals, play and nap time. So this year, we’ve split it over two days instead! Yesterday we went for a walk on Hampstead Heath. Stan napped in his pram for 1 hr 45 mins while we walked! This was followed by BDay present shopping at @toast and lunch at Cotê in Hampstead. Pretty gorgeous day! Today’s plans include brunch at @ottolenghi, exhibition at @barbicancentre and dinner at @menuprimeur What a birthday!!! #AD As promised, here’s a little update on some of the ‘refreshing’ we’ve been doing of our Living Room. I’ve written a couple of blog posts showing what the room was like before Stan (over at www.the-smuggler.com) and the changes we wanted to make, both to give the styling a new lease of life but also to allow us to use the room differently now we’re a family. One big change needed to be the way we styled the sideboard. This is actually a much more paired back look for us (I know right! We love a bit of cluttered minimalism). Stan has gotten to an age where he can reach anything placed towards the front of the sideboard, so we needed to simplify and go for a cleaner, more intentional look. Earlier in the year at @madedotcom’s showroom relaunch, I fell in love with this Vetro Table Lamp in Dusty Nude. When I got to work on my mood board for the restyle I knew this lamp had to be front and centre. Dusty pale pinks and circles ended up being repeated motifs for the room and @madedotcom very kindly agreed to gift the lamp to me for the space along with some other bits I can’t wait to show you. The planter was also gifted to me by @madedotcom at a recent AW19 press preview. I’ll keep on sharing our Living Room refresh developments both on the grid and in stories and once it’s all complete I’ll be shooting the space and writing a blog post to share all the details in one place. Probably the thing that slows me down the most when curating the life and career I dream of, is overwhelm. It’s even been known to stop me in my tracks completely. It can be crippling creatively and lead to all sorts of head in sand situations which stop you from getting your life and business in a healthy, productive and fulfilling place. I’ve shared more of my own experience in my story highlight ‘OVERWHELM’. Pool time now comes with a baby monitor. Feeling very grateful to have sun lounger chill time back as part of my summer holiday life. Last year with a 4 month old, lounging didn’t get much of a billing on our summer hols. This year at 16 months Stan is having one big afternoon nap which means pool time for mummy and daddy :) Good thing the baby monitor works all the way up by the pool! Big news in the Evans Gleadall household! Just before we came on holiday, our Scott Corner Sofa in Pink Cotton Velvet arrived! Huge thanks to @madedotcom for the little discount :) This sofa is now the epicentre of our Living Room. We started using our living space differently as soon as we got this pink sofa of dreams in place. Having somewhere for me, Stan, @dapperdang and @mabelunderthetable to all pile on and cuddle together makes me so very happy. Stan and I had the BEST time @royalacademyarts Summer Show today. Thank you for the inspiration to go @fionamphoto It was our first exhibition visit just the two of us (@dapperdang was at school) and the first one where Stan was really properly engaging with the art. The first room is full of animal sculptures and pictures so was super easy to get Stan engaged and excited about looking around. The whole show was beautifully curated and I was really impressed. Full of colour and dynamic installations so Stan and I were interested in every room. Picked up some gorgeous books for him in the shop and we had a lovely time in the café too. Couldn’t have been easier with a pram/toddler. Staff were lovely, helpful and thoughtful. And Finsbury Park to Green Park on the Victoria Line is a winner as both tubes have lifts!
